About Loess Hills Canine Training LLC

My name is Robert Markve, and I’m an Air Force Veteran and former law enforcement officer with a lifelong passion for working with dogs. That passion started back in high school when I watched a police K9 demonstration during a citizens police academy and from that moment on I knew I wanted to build my life around dogs.

Right after graduation, I joined the Air Force as a Security Forces Specialist with the goal of becoming a Military Working Dog Handler. After separating from active duty in 2017, I continued serving in the Air National Guard while also joining a local police department, still driven by that same goal. Although my career paths led me into leadership roles sooner than expected, my passion for dog training never faded, it only grew stronger. That passion is what ultimately led me to create Loess Hills Canine Training LLC.

Over the years, I’ve gained nearly 20 years of hands on experience working with a wide variety of dogs, including family pets, police K9s, military working dogs, and hunting dogs. I’m comfortable working with all breeds and sizes, and I specialize in helping dogs and their owners through clear communication, structure, and consistency.

I believe training isn’t just about the dog, it’s about building a strong, lasting relationship between you and your canine. I’m committed to continued learning, coaching, and helping both dogs and owners grow in confidence every step of the way.
